That's true enough. How about using traditional media to advertise the website?

OK your website is viewable 24/7/365, can hold more information than the entire newspaper, can be updated/edited/altered within minutes, can be fully interactive and still only cost a fraction of even a week-long advert but let's be fair to its distant paper cousin, readership is substantial and regular. The newspaper will have a more widespread and immediate impact than a shiny new website competing with similar businesses for Google's affection. Of course, there are numerous pros and cons with both media but as a long-term marketing tool, the website is a must.

How much would the Bendigo Addy charge for a modest sized advert for a year? Having done the math, it was a no brainer as to whether my business needed a web site. Nice article but would be interested to see some statistic of small businesses in relation to how or even if they use the web.
